The law firm of Johnson Petrov LLP ("JP") traces its inception to 1987 when Andrew P. Johnson, III left a large Houston law firm, where he was the director of the Public Finance Section, to begin practice as a sole practitioner. As a sole practitioner, Mr. Johnson continued his development and public finance work, representing a number of special districts, housing finance corporations, developers, as well as other issuers of public securities.
Alan P. Petrov joined Mr. Johnson in 1994 and they have practiced law together for the last twenty seven (27) years. Mr. Petrov was formerly the Assistant Director of the Texas Water Commission's Legal Division, and an associate at a large Houston law firm where his practice was concentrated in municipal, environmental, land use, regulatory, and utility related matters.
In 2014, after working together for twenty (20) years, Mr. Johnson and Mr. Petrov streamlined their practice to focus on helping communities develop and flourish. Together they established Johnson Petrov LLP which has already become recognized as a leader in the industry.
The diverse experience of the firm's partners in such areas as development, municipal, public finance, administrative, utility, environmental, special districts and land use law, offers the ability to meet the varied needs of the firm's clients in a way which is unmatched by other similar firms our size.
